USRAH CLASS (CCUB1061_212)

HAVING A POSITIVE OPINION OF ALLAH

Allah tells us that He is what the servants thinks of him. We as a muslims have to set a good opinion of Allah in our mind. This is because when we think that Allah love us and wants the best for us, then it will change our mind that everything happen is because Allah wanted to prepared us for something good. However, if we think that Allah hates us and wanted to punish us by giving the test, so Allah will let that thoughts become true.

Like it or not, we have to believe in Allah for what He already planned for us. When we trust Him, we tend to become more calm eventhough things didn't get into our way or we felt pain. We will always keep in our mind that Allah never do something to harm us eventhough we didn't know where is He taking us.

Besides, Allah says in Quran "You might hate something but turns out it is good for you and you might loves something but it is bad for you". With this statement Allah clearly shows how All-Knowing He is because He knows everything that we didn't know. If Allah didn't give us things that we wanted although we prayed and asked Him numeous times, maybe because He know that something we wanted is bad for us so He save us before something that we loved destroy us and He surely has something better to give us in returns. Therefore, always be humble and bare in our mind who Allah is and how capable He is and who we are.

Our level of understanding often affects our response. So, when we understand how loving Allah is towards His servants. we never ever doubt what He already planned for us. Sometimes Allah let us feel pain and hurt just to make us stronger and to cure us. The more we understand beyond the pain, the best response we will react to Allah and didn't complain against Him. When we reminds ourselves that Allah is merciful and has more mercy towards us compared to our mothers, we will indeed in peace because we know that Allah will never do something to hurt us.

Last but not least, as a servants, we have to always think good of Allah and trust Him in everything that he Have for us. Furthermore, to be a good servants we have to ask Allah to make us more patience and strengthen our heart to always believe in Him and no more complain against things that we feel bad in our sight.

Summarizing usrah classes

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. Today i would like to share what i've learnt in my usrah classes for last week. So basically some of us are given task to do a presentation about 'Rukun Islam'. Meanwhile the rest will take turn for next week about another topic. This is some points that my classmates shared about their topic.

1) Declaration of faith

As a Muslim, the first thing we have to do to declare our faith (imaan) is reciting syahadah. The state of syahadah is there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger. A person who understand this declaration, recites it with sincerity and lives according to its teachings is a Muslim. It is what identifies or distinguishes a Muslim at the most fundamental level.

2) Obligatory prayer

There are 5 prayers that compulsory for muslim to do in their daily life. The first one is fajr prayer that will be done after dawn, Dhuhr in the afternoon, Asr in the evening, Maghrib (sunset) prayer and Isha' (nightfall) prayer. Muslim have to perform all this 5 prayers everyday to show our remembrance of Allah and to express our gratitude towards all the ni'mat that Allah has given to us.

3) Compulsory giving

Zakat is mandatory for all muslims that are capable to do so. Zakat is a sign of worship to Allah. The concept of zakat is to give away some amount of money to people in needed. This is because zakat is considered to purify one's heart of greed. Love of wealth is natural and it takes firm belief in Allah for a person to do so.

4) Fasting in the month of Ramadan

During the holy month of ramadan, all Muslims are required to abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk for 30 days. The act of fasting is to remind Muslims about people who less fortunate and to reinforce need to be thankful to Allah. In ramadan, Allah will increase our rewards.

5) Pilgrimage to Mecca

The hajj is a last pillar of islam, required of all muslims who is capable once in a lifetime. It is a physically demanding journey that Muslim believe offers a chance to wipe out their ast sins and start anew with Allah. The pilgrimage rite begins on the 7th day of Dzulhijjah (the last month of islamic calendar) and ends on the 12th day.

In conclusion, as a Muslim we have to obey all the pillars that Allah stated for us to do. Last but not least, becoming a better muslim is a must when we want to enter the Jannah.
